about the site

Music on Film is all about the love of film scores. We love listening to 'em, writing about 'em and, even better, seeing them within the films themselves. The site was created in an effort to give useful reviews that really get down to the music, instead of a 250 word shotgun review that rambles endlessly about the actors or the plot.

Music on Film is not a site about songtracks. What's a songtrack you ask? It's a collection of pop, rock or rap songs that usually don't appear in the film and have nothing to do with it other than as a marketing tool. Please don't email me or leave comments on the reviews asking about songs in movies - that's just not what we do here. The only answer you'll probably ever get is "I have no idea."

where to send review copies

want to become a reviewer/columnist?

I'm always looking for contributors who have:

  1. a love of film music, old and new
  2. the ability to write intelligent commentary about music (no "Dude! It was awesome!" types please)
  3. the resolve and attention span to stick with it for a while

So if you have an idea for a feature or column you would like to write, or if you just want to write a review, drop me a line at admin@musiconfilm.net.
