FAQ
What is this place?
Music On Film is a website devoted to the art of film scoring. We review film score and soundtrack CDs, write feature articles on the subject, interview composers about their work and release a regular podcast discussing all things film music.
Where can I find/who wrote/what’s the name of the song from that movie?
We are not especially interested in songs used in films, or “songtracks” as they are often called. In other words, we don’t really keep up with popular music that shows up in movies. Your best chance of finding this information is to simply check the Internet Movie Database or use a search engine like Google to search for “Your Movie Title” and the scene or song you are looking for.
I’d like to submit a CD review or write an article for your website.
We are always happy to read anything you want to send us. Most reviews/articles will get published, although we reserve the right to edit your submission as we deem necessary before publication. Of course, thoughtful and well written submissions are more likely to get published.
I am a label, publicist or composer who would like to submit a copy of a release for review.
We welcome review submissions. You may send the information for digital distribution to editor Jonathan Shearon or use our contact form. You can also promotional material to:
